IRIS at DAGA 2014 in Oldenburg, Germany

IRIS was recently on display at the 40th Annual German Congress on Acoustics (DAGA 2014) with our distributor in Germany, Akustikbüro Rahe-Kraft GmbH. IRIS developer Daniel Protheroe travelled to Germany to attend the conference which was held over 4 days in March at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.

The Rahe-Kraft booth was located just inside the main entrance to the exhibition area of DAGA, shown in the photo above. Also on display in the booth was Insul and Zorba software from Marshall Day Acoustics, and SONarchitect ISO from Sound of Numbers.

It was great to talk with local researchers and consultants and hear about potential uses of IRIS.

A separate lecture room was organised for demonstrating IRIS to those who were interested.

Thanks to the team at Rahe-Kraft for organising the booth and demonstration room, and also to Cástor from Sound of Numbers.

  • The success of a musical performance depends on the sense of proximity of performer to listener. This sense is mediated largely by the directional properties of the reflected sound field.
